Jay Chiranakhorn Phutraku

Jay Phutrakul is a student and swimmer who believes leadership isn’t about having a title — it’s about actually doing something. Whether he’s leading his swim team, launching a student project, or learning the ropes at a Big Four firm, Jay shows up with curiosity and drive to make things better.

My Story

Growing up in Bangkok, Jay saw early on that small actions can lead to real change. For his year-long capstone, he chose to turn an unused plot of land into a working rice farm. He spent the year figuring out how to manage the growing process and worked with the Community Children Foundation to donate the harvest to support meals for underprivileged kids. The project taught him that meaningful impact doesn’t always start big — it starts by showing up and following through.

At Harrow International School Bangkok, Jay studies Business, History, Psychology, and English A-levels. He recently interned at EY, working on electric vehicle strategy and getting a firsthand look at how business and innovation shape the world outside the classroom.

Outside school, he competes as captain of the swim team — focusing on short-distance freestyle, breaststroke, and butterfly — and is working to turn his rice project into a student-led model that blends service, leadership, and real-world learning.

Looking ahead, Jay hopes to study business or global affairs, with the long-term goal of launching ventures that don’t just succeed, but also bring others up along the way.
